Fashion, Confidence & Character: Positive Character Girls Hosts an Unforgettable Fashion Show

Saturday, August 29th was a day filled with style, creativity, confidence, talent, and, most importantly, positive character as Positive Character Girls and Positive Character Impact came together for a spectacular youth fashion show!
The event provided an opportunity for our young people to step into the spotlight, express themselves, build confidence, and celebrate their individuality. The fashions showcased were thoughtfully curated by our coordinators and the youth and teen models, creating a runway experience that was as unique and vibrant as the young people who participated.
👗 Young Models Take Center Stage
The fashion show featured youth and teen participants from both Positive Character Girls and Positive Character Impact programs. Our models proudly walked the runway, demonstrating poise, confidence, personality, and—of course—style!
The event was coordinated by our wonderful Board Members Nuri Rodriguez and Ashaki Rodriguez, whose creativity, organization, and commitment helped bring this special event to life.
But the runway wasn't the only place where our young people shined!
💃 Dance, Music & Meaning
Several of our girls added even more excitement to the event by participating in a lively dance routine, choreographed by two of our talented teen workers, Camya Cummings and Trinity Henderson. Their leadership and creativity gave our young dancers an opportunity to work together, learn new skills, and confidently perform in front of an audience.
Our young men also made their mark on the program by reciting Bible verses and performing spoken-word renderings inspired by modern-day rappers. Their presentations demonstrated that positive expression can take many forms—from faith and reflection to music, poetry, and spoken word.
❤️ More Than a Fashion Show
For Positive Character Girls and Positive Character Impact, events like this are about much more than clothing and entertainment. They create opportunities for our youth to build self-esteem, practice teamwork, develop leadership skills, express their creativity, and discover their voices.
We are incredibly proud of every young person who participated. Each model, dancer, speaker, and volunteer contributed something special to make the day a success.
🙏 Thank You to Our Community!
We would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Arturo Rodriguez, Principal of IPS School #74, for graciously allowing us to use the school for this event. Your support helped provide our youth with a welcoming space to showcase their talents.
We also want to thank all of the vendors who participated, our guests who came out to support our youth, and our dedicated Board members and staff who helped make the event possible.
Most importantly, thank you to our Positive Character Girls and Positive Character Impact families and participants for showing up, participating, and helping us create an afternoon filled with confidence, creativity, and community.
We believe every young person deserves an opportunity to shine—and on August 29th, our young people did exactly that! ✨
